Essential works for two town car parks
Chapel Street car park in Evesham and Pershore Hospital short stay car park will both close on 10 September for essential repairs.
Evesham’s Chapel Street car park is predicted to be back open on 14 September (weather dependant) and will undergo extensive resurfacing. Customers are being advised to use Oat Street car park in Evesham as an alternative and it will be available in a long and short stay capacity.
The investment costing nearly £40,000 will ensure that the car park is safe and ready for the winter cold weather and will be much more cost effective than patch repairs.
Pershore Hospital short stay car park will be closed for a shorter period – with work predicted to take just three days (again weather dependent). These repairs will cost just over £11,000 and customers will have the option of using neighbouring long stay facilities around the Civic Centre.
Cllr. Lynne Duffy, Deputy Leader at Wychavon said “Investing in our car parks is important to ensure they’re safe and fit for purpose. The work will be completed as quickly as possible and will provide a positive outcome for both towns.”
