Malvern gets set to celebrate Christmas

Celebrities from top children’s television programmes will be the stars of this year’s Christmas light switch on in Malvern.

Amy Thompson from Channel 5’s Milkshake and Chris Pizzey from The Basil Brush Show will be flicking the switch to mark the countdown to Christmas on Saturday 26 November at 6pm on Belle Vue Terrace. The pair will be starring in this year's Malvern Theatres pantomime Sleeping Beauty.

The switch-on is part of the Great Malvern Christmas Festival. Activities start at 10am, including a fine food and craft market, Santa's grotto, live music, refreshments, a parade of lanterns and much more.

Cllr Phil Grove, Leader at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “The Christmas Festival is a lovely way to start the Christmas Season in this wonderful town, and gives us the opportunity to support the many great local businesses we have in the area.

“Last year’s festival was packed, with a great lively atmosphere, and we hope that people will once again enjoy all the festive delights on offer.”
